The world is awash with published fake articles written by artificial intelligence. One of the first was: "A Methodology for the Typical Unification of Access Points and Redundancy". Hundreds of such papers have been removed by publishers after discovering they were written by AI. There are now dozens of AI manuscript writers for sale.
Can you discriminate real nonsense from fake nonsense? Consider the four "authoritative" paragraphs below. Which one(s) were written by AI?
PARA 1
"People underestimate the power of models. Observational evidence is not very useful."
PARA 2
PARA 3
PARA 4
Of course it raises the question, what do you trust? Should you trust anything you read on the net? Should you trust anything consultants try to sell to you?
The only way to know the truth is to investigate for yourself. Investigate the source. Investigate the statements and assumptions in the source. Check the facts. Check the references. The greater the hype, claims and promises, the greater the likelihood of deception. If everyone believes, be even more suspicious. Don't follow the herd. Think for yourself.
I've heard some people claim that they don't have the capability or time to investigate, or that they don't understand science. If you are in this position, you are most likely to be a victim of a scam. You are a con man's delight.
THE ANSWERS
The nonsense of Para 1 was written by Professor John Mitchell, OBE. It is the stuff of fairy land.
The farce of Para 2 is from the creator of the Six
Sigma Scam, M Harry. He's talking about what he called the "pillar" of his Six Sigma, his fraudulent 1.5 sigma shift. Harry even admitted he was a con man.
He wrote at length on using "smoke and mirrors" to defraud his gullible victims.
The third para is from one of Harry's victims, Boeing. It is marketing hype.
A US judge described the 346 people Boeing killed as "crime victims". They died as a result of the "technologically advanced systems" of cost cutting.
The
final para is AI generated fluff.
